Classification
Class "AA" -
Composed of the sixteen member schools
with the largest enrollment in grades 9-12 based
on the Average Daily Membership from the 2000
school year.
Class
"A" - All
other schools.
Qualifying
No
school in "A" or "AA" may compete
more than six
gymnasts per event during the State
Meet individual competition.
AA: Gymnasts
that meet
the qualifying standard of 35.0 at TWO meets during
the regular season, regardless of the number
of teams or judges at the meet, will automatically
qualify for the all-around competition
at the State Meet.
The 1 st and
2 nd
place team from
each of the 4 regions plus the
next four highest team scores for a total of
12 teams will qualify for the Class "AA"
State Meet; as well as, the top 12 individuals in each
event with
ties plus the 5 all-around gymnasts meeting or
bettering a standard of 31.0.
A:
The 1 st
-3 rd
placed teams from each of the three regions for a
total of 9 teams,
the top 15 in each event, plus
the top 5 all-aroundgymnasts plus any meeting or
bettering the standard of 28 at the regional meet or
30 at two regular season meets will qualify for
the State meet.
Scoring
Individual
Score Event Score: An individual’s event score
is the score
in a particular event.
All-Around
Score: The
scores of the four individual events are totaled.
Team Event Score: The best four individual
scores for each team in each event are totaled to
determine the team’s score for that event.
Team Score: The total is obtained by adding
the team event
scores.
Awards
Team: First
and Second place teams will receive a trophy.
The third through eighth place teams will receive
plaques. The first through fourth place teams will
receive medals.
Individual
and All-Around: Class
"A": Top
15 places receive a medal in all 4 events and all-around.
Class "AA": Top 20 places receive a medal in
all 4 events and all-around.
