The
52ndt Annual South Dakota All-State Band will be held
at the Huron Areana March 21-23. The Grand Concert will be held on Saturday
evening, March 23, beginning at 8:00 p.m. with Anthony
Maiello, conducting.
The members of the All-State Band
were selected by auditioning at one of the five
audition centers throughout the State. The four
audition judges fly around the State to each site over
a period of six days and listen to students. From that
number the 161 students that are in this year's band
were selected. The members of the Band represent 44
South Dakota schools.
The South Dakota Bandmasters
Association is proud to be Co-Sponsoring this
All-State Concert with the South Dakota High School
Activities Association. It is the hopes of both
Associations that the participants and members of the
audience will continue to realize the vital role that
music and music education plays in our lives and in
our world.
